Commission approves $115,500 for Talladega County Drug Task Force
The Commission approved FY27 funding for the Drug Task Force at $115,500; District Attorney Steve Giddens had requested a 10% increase and cited full staffing and increased violent-crime caseloads.

District Attorney Steve Giddens briefed the Commission on the Talladega County Drug Task Force, saying the unit is now fully staffed with seven officers and has handled more violent crime cases in the past three years than previously. He said the Task Force processes phones and electronic devices and that "nearly every child sexual abuse case involves a device containing child pornography."
