Albany County adopts generative AI use guidelines for employees
The board added generative AI usage guidelines and a public usage statement to the county employee handbook and website to limit data exposure, require training, and clarify appropriate disclosure of AI use.

Albany County commissioners voted Oct. 6 to amend the employee handbook to include generative AI use guidelines and a generative AI usage statement for publication on the county website. County staff said the measures are intended to protect confidential and sensitive county data, guide appropriate usage and begin countywide training.
