Local 37 captain describes training and response approach for Rescue 1

Captain Kanan Reineberger, who identified himself as a captain and president of Springfield Firefighters Local 37, said the Rescue 1 members underwent additional training to prepare for co-response duties and that the unit will prioritize time on scene to engage with individuals in crisis. "We'll sit down. We'll talk to you," Reineberger said, describing the slower, more deliberate response the unit intends to provide.
