The council approved two resolutions authorizing applications for Rural Economic Action Plan (REAP) grants to the Oklahoma Water Resources Board (OWRB), voting unanimously on both items during the Aug. 10 meeting.

The Checotah City Council voted on Aug. 10 to authorize two separate applications for Rural Economic Action Plan (REAP) grants to the Oklahoma Water Resources Board. Councilman Jay Hayes moved to approve Resolution No. 2026-08-10a; Councilman Mike Key seconded and the motion carried with all listed council members voting yes. The council then approved Resolution No. 2026-08-10b in a separate motion by Hayes, seconded by Ronnie Brinsfield, which also passed unanimously.
