Bill Sutton, representing Shawnee County Solid Waste, told commissioners the county went out for proposals for architectural and design services, received four submissions and the professional services committee recommended HDK Architects. Sutton asked for selection authorization; he said a contract would be brought forward upon approval. The board approved the recommendation by voice vote 3–0.
