Ford County names Ben A. Rumbaugh interim county administrator; approves severance agreement
Following executive sessions on legal and personnel matters, the board approved a Severance and Release Agreement for Jonathan D. Gilbert (retroactive to Aug. 10, 2026) and appointed Ben A. Rumbaugh as Interim County Administrator. Both motions passed 2-0.

The Ford County Commission held multiple executive sessions under the Kansas Open Meetings Act to discuss an employee claim, a Severance and Release Agreement and non-elected personnel hires. After reconvening from an attorney-client session, the board approved the Severance and Release Agreement for Jonathan D. Gilbert retroactive to Aug. 10, 2026. Later, after executive sessions on personnel hires, the commission appointed Ben A. Rumbaugh as Interim County Administrator; both motions carried by a 2-0 vote.
