Architect recommends design-build procurement for Newfields public-safety project

Lisa Destefano of Maugel Destefano Architects recommended the design-build procurement method to the Town of Newfields Public Safety Building Committee at its April 16 meeting, saying it would streamline responsibility for design and construction. "The design-build method consolidates accountability under one contract, with the contractor managing the architect and engineers," Destefano told members as she outlined the trade-offs among procurement options.
