MPO backs Rio Grande Trail designation segment and amends UPWP to add TCEQ work and Borderplex implementation
The board authorized a letter of support for a Paso del Norte Foundation request to include a Texas-side trail in the Rio Grande Trail designation and approved a first amendment to the UPWP to add TCEQ-funded tasks, Borderplex implementation activities and reallocate planning grant funds among UPWP tasks.

The El Paso MPO board voted to authorize the executive director to sign a letter of support for the Paso del Norte Foundation’s request to designate a Texas-side segment of the Rio Grande River Park Trail as part of the Rio Grande Trail. Staff said the designation is a formal, paper designation and does not change grant eligibility or maintenance responsibilities for the city.
