Commissioners approve payroll IGA to let county process part-time water authority wages

The Board approved an Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) allowing the Meriwether County payroll system to process pay for a part-time employee hired by the Meriwether County Water & Sewerage Authority to handle billing and operations. County Administrator John Gorton said the Authority lacks its own payroll system and will reimburse the county monthly for gross wages and employer FICA; the agreement includes a 10-year term with annual renewals and a 30-day termination notice.
