The Senate Judiciary Committee advised and consented to the gubernatorial nomination of Alfonso Braggs to the Hawaii Civil Rights Commission. Supporters—including Marcus Kawatachi, executive director of the Hawaii Civil Rights Commission, and representatives of professional and community organizations—testified to Braggs' long-standing civil-rights work and leadership.
