Planning commission schedules public hearing on WUI zoning amendments
Springdale planners agreed Aug. 5 to schedule a public hearing on proposed Land Use Code edits to align local rules with the State of Utah Wildland-Urban Interface code, focusing on exterior materials, landscaping, and exemptions for properties in the WUI zone.

Associate Planner Eugenia Akiyom presented proposed edits to Title 10 intended to reconcile Springdale's Land Use Code with the State of Utah's Wildland-Urban Interface (WUI) Code. Akiyom said staff added language "to clarify that exemptions applied exclusively to properties located entirely or partially within the WUI zone." The commission agreed to schedule a public hearing on the amendments.
