Fitchburg authorized a request to amend its urban service area to allow municipal water and sewer to serve a planned Wisconsin Department of Corrections juvenile detention facility near US Highway 14 and County Highway M; the facility will receive service from the Village of Oregon.

City Administrator Chad Brecklin told the council the Wisconsin Department of Corrections plans to construct a juvenile detention facility near the intersection of US Highway 14 and County Highway M and that the building will receive water and sewer service from the Village of Oregon.
