Dearborn County panel questions 500-foot notice, urges moving technical engineering to site-plan stage
Planning committee members debated a proposed 500-foot public-notification radius and whether full engineering studies should be required before conditional-use approval, saying many technical details are normally handled at the site-plan stage and asking staff to confirm local and state standards.

Chair (Speaker 1) opened the discussion of Section 19–22 and flagged a proposed 500-foot notification radius, saying the committee would leave the number in the draft but mark it for Plan Commission review. "I'm gonna put the 500 feet. I'm gonna highlight it, and then that'll be one of our notations," the Chair said when members asked whether Dearborn County already uses 500 feet.
