Dan Anderson, who said he and his wife Marion bought their home in 2024, requested a variance to build a two‑car detached garage about 26.5 feet from the road instead of the required 50 feet. Anderson argued the proposed garage would improve sight lines and not reduce safety; he presented photos showing the proposed footprint would be farther from the road than a similar neighboring garage built before current setbacks took effect.
