County administration presented its tentative 2026 budget to the Cache County Council, saying the overall budget totals are down about $17,000,000 (roughly 14%) from last year. "The budget this year is approximately $17,000,000 less than the budget last year, some 14% less," the presenter said, noting much of the reduction is in capital projects and that fund balances are about $15 million lower than the prior year.
