The committee unanimously approved acceptance of two state grants to support Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs and a related accessibility and inclusion program; the motion was moved by Legislator Mercedes Vazquez Simmons, seconded by Legislator Santos Cruz, and adopted 8-0.

The Human Services Committee voted on Dec. 16, 2025 to accept grants from the New York State Department of Health for two programs serving children and youth with special health care needs: the Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs Program and the Community Accessibility and Inclusion for the Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs Program (agenda item 25-0425, County Executive Adam J. Bello).
