Commission refines road-infrastructure permitting; adds manager review and school-notification language
The commission amended the road-infrastructure ordinance to authorize permitting by the county road superintendent subject to county manager approval, require bonding and safety measures, reference state/federal code for burial depths, and require notification to school districts for road closures.

The board reviewed and amended Ordinance 2025-006, which governs placement of utilities and other infrastructure on, under or across county roads. The ordinance establishes mandatory permit conditions, bonding or deposit requirements, applicant obligations to repair roadways, safety measures during construction and enforcement and appeals procedures.
