Scipio planning board flags AI data centers for possible zoning rules
Board members were asked to collect information on energy 'mega users' and the town attorney was asked to investigate creating zoning regulations addressing AI data centers, a move aimed at preparing for large power demands and infrastructure impacts.

At the July 22 meeting Chair Melissa Alford raised concerns about large energy users and nuclear sources and asked board members to share news and research. The board recorded that the town attorney has been asked "to investigate creating zoning regulations addressing AI Data Centers."
