Planning staff provided an introductory briefing on the 2025 Colorado Wildfire Resiliency Code and the local timetable for compliance. Kristen, a planning staff presenter, said the CWRC (adopted by the state board July 1, 2025) incorporates the International Wildland‑Urban Interface Code with Colorado‑specific amendments and a statewide CWRC map layer. "All municipalities in Colorado are required by April 1st, 2026 to adopt the CWRC, including Telluride," Kristen said, and noted that while adoption must occur by April 1 the state provides a 90‑day grace period for implementation and training, meaning local implementation is due by July 1, 2026.
