A joint House–Senate conference committee on May 1 approved a conference draft that would require the Public Utilities Commission to adopt automatic adjustment mechanisms for water‑carrier rates through June 30, 2029, and would give the PUC discretion to apply an additional adjustment cycle that could run through June 30, 2033. The measure would take effect July 1, 2026, and include an automatic sunset on July 1, 2033.
