Commissioners add two shade projects to MSTU recommendations after equity concerns
Following questions about geographic fairness in funding, the board amended MSTU funding to add two Seminole area shade structures (one $24,000 Gulf Coast United soccer request; one $7,500 Seminole Seahawks request) and approved the amended package unanimously.

Commissioner Peters (speaker 3) pressed staff on the geographic distribution of Municipal Service Taxing Unit (MSTU) funds and argued that South County and recently organized Seminole groups were being underserved. Peters asked staff to reconsider funding for several small recreation projects in Seminole that had previously been declined because requests had been consolidated under a single organization.
