Council authorizes preliminary engineering for downtown sidewalk project

Council authorized the preliminary engineering design phase for the 2027 downtown sidewalk project along 2nd Avenue SW after hearing from Public Works Supervisor Gary Kirkeby and City Manager Tammy Pfaff. "We have signed petitions and complaints to repair the sidewalks downtown. We think it is time to get some cost estimates for the project," Pfaff said. Councilor Tim Poorker moved and Councilor Norris Johnson seconded the authorization; the motion passed unanimously.
