Designers propose two‑pool layout, 0‑depth play zone and current channel for Mequon pool

Oct 6, 2026

Consultants presented a two‑pool concept: an east 0‑depth activity pool with play features and a current channel, and a west deep hopper with lap lanes and diving amenities. Council discussed accessibility, lifeguard needs and slide configurations.

The full story

Consultants described the Phase 1 aquatics layout the committee is being asked to endorse: two bodies of water with an east‑side 0‑depth activity pool (pop fountains, play features, seating and a dry playground) and a west‑side deep hopper with four lap lanes, diving platforms and a climbing wall. The design retains a current channel feature — described as a circulation element distinct from a “lazy river” — and includes ADA features such as accessible ramp entry and a wheelchair lift for deeper water.
