Board returns Sawyer parcel to AG‑40 zoning, enabling 40‑acre split
Oct 6, 2026
The board approved RZ 26‑13 to rezone part of the Sawyer property at 4254 SW 60th Street from RR back to AG‑40, effectively restoring the parcel's original, more restrictive classification and allowing a 40‑acre split. Staff flagged an old conditional use that may be removed later.
The full story
Planning staff recommended approval of RZ 26‑13, a rezoning request for property at 4254 SW 60th Street (James and Danita Sawyer ownership) to return the parcel from RR (rural residential) back to AG‑40. Staff said the parcel had been partially rezoned in 2023 to allow a smaller lot but that the owner now seeks to return the portion to AG‑40 so a 40‑acre split along the north end of the property can be made. Staff described the requested classification as more restrictive than the current RR designation and said the change would allow only one additional single‑family dwelling on the returned AG‑40 portion.
