ZBA approves deck replacement variance for McElvaney at 49 Frozen Ridge Road
The Zoning Board approved variances allowing Edward McElvaney to replace and modestly extend a rear deck and to address corner-lot setback issues after confirming the change would not be more intrusive than existing conditions.

Edward McElvaney told the Board he plans to remove an existing nonpermitted rear deck built by a prior owner and replace it with a new 12-by-53 deck; because the lot is a corner parcel the proposal requires front- and rear-yard setback variances. The Board confirmed mailings (26), reviewed site conditions, and asked whether the new deck would extend beyond the current footprint. McElvaney said the proposed extension is about 16 feet but would not project past the house's end.
