Committee members and staff discussed which awards should be treated as anchor or marquee recognitions and noted several categories have little or no nominations. Staff listed the marquee awards — including the Willard Marshall and Verne Miller awards and the Salem Spirit recognition — and said those tend to be central to the ceremony and are often saved for the end of the program.
