Jacinto City authorizes RFPs for three $2M DRRP projects including sewer and emergency communications upgrades

May 14, 2026

Council authorized solicitation of RFPs for three DRRP-funded projects (each $2 million): a WWTP digester project, a Lane Street sewer line to address storm overflows, and a fixed communications equipment project including new generators and a P25-compliant radio upgrade; the projects are fast-tracked with one due by next April.

The full story

City Manager Squyres briefed the council on three Disaster Recovery and Resiliency Program (DRRP) grants Jacinto City received and asked council to authorize solicitation of Requests for Proposals (RFPs). According to Squyres, each grant is worth $2 million. The projects are: (1) a WWTP digester project to complete work at the wastewater treatment plant after the digester scope was split out so the original project could remain within a $5.3 million budget; (2) the Lane Street sewer line project to increase capacity and reduce storm-related sewer overflows; and (3) a fixed communications equipment project to replace aging generators (including the 22–23-year-old fire station generator) and upgrade the radio system to P25 compliance to improve interoperability.
