Council amends solid-waste fee schedule and approves garbage base fee increase
Council approved an amendment to the solid-waste fee schedule to add a $20 per-can additional service fee (up to three extra cans) and adopted ordinance 2026-08-11d to raise the residential garbage base fee from $31 to $32.25 effective Nov. 1, 2026.

The council voted to amend the city's solid-waste fee schedule to allow public works to deny requests for additional services and to add a $20 additional-can fee for up to three extra cans. The change was added to ordinance 2025-08-12 to reflect the council’s earlier direction on managing additional solid-waste pickup requests.
