Board approves pergola variance after applicant resolves neighbor concerns

The Board unanimously approved variance V70 for a pergola and increased impervious coverage after the applicants, Mara and Juan Carlos Garcia, said they had reduced the structure and satisfied a prior neighbor’s concerns. Mara Garcia told the board they had reduced the pergola and completed requested fixes and neighbor outreach. The motion to approve included staff comments, a prohibition on commercial or residential use and a requirement that the structure be permitted and inspected by county development inspections.
