The board approved administration’s recommendation to adopt Reading Horizons Discovery as the district’s Tier 1 phonics instructional material for grades K–3, to begin implementation in 2026–27. The adoption recommendation (administrators responsible: Lauren Meeks and Amanda Hardwick) followed the spring 2026 adoption process; the packet lists stakeholder feedback counts that favored Reading Horizons (Professional Learning Communities: 82 for Reading Horizons vs. 13 for Amplify; Community Members: 7 vs. 4).
