The Marfa Independent School District Board of Trustees appointed Jonathan Lockett to the Place 1 vacancy at its April 21, 2026 regular meeting. Board Vice President Rene Gonzales moved the appointment; Board Member Jay Foster seconded. The motion carried 5–0.
