The Forney ISD Board voted to approve a resolution to pay employees during a school closure on Feb. 2, 2026. The resolution was presented by Dr. Michelle Somerhalder, Chief of Human Resources, and moved for approval by Board Member Katrina Burkhalter with support from Board Secretary Becky Dobbs; the motion carried 4–0.
