Assessor seeks more staffing and mapping upgrades as Jasper County grows

Tax Assessor Lynn Bentley told the board that county growth has increased assessment workload and that her office needs additional assessment help. Bentley requested staff increases and additional education and training funding for a new Board of Assessors member. She said mapping fees need to increase to support an improved public parcel view on the county website and noted that timber appraisal costs have fallen.
