At a March 18 special meeting, the Angleton Independent School District Board of Education approved interviewing seven applicants after reviewing superintendent applications in executive session with TASB. The motion was moved by Justin Journeay, seconded by Michael Sillavan, and carried unanimously.

Angleton Independent School District Board of Education President Tommy Gaines called the special meeting to order at 6:06 p.m. on March 18, 2026. After an executive session during which the board reviewed superintendent applications with representatives from the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB), the board returned to open session and approved interviewing seven applicants.
