Delta Stewardship Council lead scientist previews 2026 Delta Science Plan and Project Elevate mapping
Dr. Wenda Myers reported peer‑review activity, previewed the 2026 Delta Science Plan (four grand challenges and 24 actions), and announced Project Elevate — a seamless LiDAR elevation map of the Bay‑Delta estuary to be released publicly at the end of July. She also described modeling collaboratory projects on harmful algal blooms, salinity tradeoffs, and tidal‑wetland restoration.

Dr. Wenda Myers, the lead scientist with the Delta Stewardship Council, presented the Council’s spring quarter science update. She said two recent peer reviews were completed (winter‑run Chinook loss models and a spring‑run juvenile production estimate used by DWR and BOR), with recommendations to improve model uncertainty and real‑time decision support.
