After public comments listed on the agenda about solid waste contracts, the Lawrence County Commission voted 2–1 to terminate waste-disposal program participation agreements with Courtland, North Courtland and Hillsboro; Commissioner Charles voted no.

The Lawrence County Commission voted Dec. 12 to terminate the county's waste-disposal program participation agreements with the towns of Courtland, North Courtland and Hillsboro. Commissioner Bobby Burch moved the measure and Commissioner Norman Pool seconded; the motion passed with Commissioners Pool and Burch voting to approve and Commissioner Dana Charles voting against the termination.
