The full story
The Hopkinsville City Council passed Ordinance 25-2026 on second reading, a comprehensive update to Chapter 93 covering garbage, green waste, and weeds. The ordinance adds or revises definitions (including a separate definition for "green waste"), requires a temporary collection service permit for private collection at each container/location, and changes the time residential containers must be ready for collection from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. It also eliminates certain exceptions for limb collection under knuckle-boom service and directs the solid-waste enterprise to post fall leaf-collection dates on its website.
