Engineers from HLA Engineering presented a developer-funded roundabout design for the intersection of SR‑24 (Broadway) and Curtis Drive, telling the council the Washington State Department of Transportation had vetted the concept and prefers roundabouts because they reduce severe collisions and move traffic more efficiently than signals.
