Staff reports on MALPF settlements, IPP schedule, Rural Legacy and CREP interest, Critical Farms and a Next Generation project
Staff updated the board on multiple programs: MALPF settlements from the 2025/26 cycle (one scheduled to settle this month), IPP top-21 application scheduling, ongoing Rural Legacy and CREP interest, a pending Critical Farms offer and a 36-acre Next Generation SANG project near Emmitsburg.

Staff provided a consolidated update across preservation programs. On MALPF, staff said settlements are in progress from the 2025/26 cycle and one MALPF offer is scheduled to settle this month; the next MALPF application deadline is April 1, 2026. For IPP, staff said the top-ranked 21 applications will be presented to the County Planning Commission and to the Frederick County Council on scheduled dates, with the next IPP application deadline on Sept. 1, 2026.
