Cold Spring board approves $12,241.20 payroll payment and reclassifies clerk-treasurer position

The Village of Cold Spring Board of Trustees approved a settlement agreement and general release authorizing a payroll check in the gross amount of $12,241.20 to compensate the village clerk treasurer for unpaid overtime dating to the commencement of employment through May 31, 2026. The board said the underpayment resulted from a longstanding practice of excluding stipends from overtime calculations; the village conducted a payroll audit and determined a two-year statutory look-back for non-willful violations.
