The Otero County Board of County Commissioners voted Sept. 14 to accept the resignation of Sheriff Shawn Mobley, effective September 30, 2026. Commissioner Tim Knabenshue moved to add the resignation to the consent agenda and to accept it; Commissioner Jim Baldwin seconded and the motion carried.
