The Poland Select Board on Oct. 6 authorized the town to issue a request for proposals to purchase durable bookshelves and furniture for the new library interior, with a target to have units installed by March. Town Manager (S2) said the goal is to select shelving that will last decades and that staff reached out to multiple vendors, including the Maine State Prison woodshop, which inspected the site and provided measurements.
