Caricia Johnston, Rio Grande County Treasurer, asked the Board to allow the Treasurer’s Office to close at 10:30 a.m. on March 24, 2026 so the entire staff can attend a cross‑training session in Alamosa County. Johnston said the office would remain open until 10:15 a.m. that day to serve the public before departure and cited ongoing legislative changes affecting deeds as a reason the training is needed.
