The Thomas County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously Aug. 25 to authorize the Southwest Georgia Regional Commission (SWGRC) to submit an application for FY2028 Section 5311 rural transit funds on the county’s behalf. Commissioner Zippy Vanier moved for approval and Commissioner Kenneth E. Hickey seconded; the board’s vote carried without opposition and the minutes include the full text of standard federal and state assurances required for the grant application.
