The Cathlamet Town Council passed Resolution 475-26 declaring Town-owned property surplus and discussed potential disposition and costs. Crystal Baker said the Town "needs to reduce expenses rather than take on additional costs," noting that retaining the property as grass would cost "approximately $24,000 in additional annual maintenance expenses" and that the old Town Hall contains significant mold and has been vacant for approximately three years. The resolution passed on the record, and the council then approved placing an RFP in the paper for one week with a one-month deadline (M/S/V: C. Baker/J. Baker, 4-0). The matter is expected to return to the agenda in October.
