Committee votes to recommend renaming itself the Sustainability Coordinating Committee
The committee unanimously recommended forwarding a resolution to change its name from the Environmental Management System Committee to the Sustainability Coordinating Committee; the recommendation will next go to the facilities committee and then the full county board for final action.

The chair introduced a resolution to rename the Environmental Management System Committee, arguing the current name (and acronym "EMS") causes confusion and that a sustainability‑focused name better reflects the committee’s broader responsibilities. "I was proposing we just changed the name to the sustainability coordinating committee," the chair said.
