The board approved a home rule request to the New York State Legislature asking for amendments to Village Law and the Public Officers Law related to residency requirements for positions including village treasurer, deputy treasurer, clerk, deputy clerk and building inspector. Staff read the resolution supporting Senate Bill S9447 and Assembly Bill A10867 and the board voted to submit the request.
