Springfield Planning Board recommends Comprehensive Plan updates be transmitted to Florida Commerce
The Planning Board voted 5-0 to recommend that the City Commission transmit the City’s Comprehensive Plan updates (Evaluation and Appraisal Report) to the Florida Department of Commerce for review; the consultant said state review and any revisions are expected to take until January or February.

The Springfield Planning Board voted unanimously on Nov. 3, 2025, to recommend that the City Commission transmit updates to the City’s Comprehensive Plan — an Evaluation and Appraisal Report (EAR) — to the Florida Department of Commerce for review and comment. The motion was made by Planning Commissioner Jack Kennington and seconded by Planning Commissioner Cindy Hamre; the board recorded "all ayes" and the motion carried 5-0.
