Commission to continue Rutherford High streetscape design amid safety concerns
City leaders said pickup/drop-off congestion near Rutherford High has blocked emergency vehicles. The Commission decided to continue planned ADA sidewalk, drainage, lighting and landscaping work and prohibit parking in new right-of-ways.

Mayor Ralph Hammond reported concerns from Bay District Schools regarding the Streetscape Project on School Ave near Rutherford High School after the district combined middle- and high-school pick-up patterns, increasing congestion. He said emergency vehicles have been impeded and parents parking along the road create unsafe conditions for students.
