The Leelanau County Board of Commissioners authorized the board chair to negotiate an employment agreement with Fabian Knizacky as Interim Finance Director, pending corporate counsel review. Interim Administrator Lauren Cypher told the board she expects the interim director to start effective Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2026 and that Knizacky "will be in the room for introductions at the Regular Session." The motion to allow the chair to negotiate the employment agreement passed unanimously.
